CURRENT MISSIONARIES
Andrew and Brooke York
A.J. York is currently on staff at Bible Baptist Church in Gulfport, Mississippi where Mike Spann is the pastor. He and his wife Brooke believe God has now called them to plant a church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They plan to move to Michigan in August and begin the process of planting a church. The vision they have for Journey Baptist Church is to be a church that multiplies believers, disciples, and churches for Jesus Christ: in Ann Arbor, in the state of Michigan, in the United States of America, and the rest of the world
Gerardo and Cesia Gaona
Gerardo and Cesia were born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. As teenagers they heard God’s call for Missions. In 2006, they got married and moved as missionaries to San Luis Potosi, SLP where God blessed them with the privilege to plant two churches. After ten years, because of their strong desire to reach others for Christ, they partnered with Friendship Baptist Church in Owasso, OK and now they are so excited to share with others that they are starting theirr journey of deputation to go to Spain to continue planting churches.
Nate and Taralynn Beil
The beil family has had the privilege to be involved in missions work and church planting since 2008. They have been on short-term missions in the Philippines, Germany, Ghana, Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, and Honduras. They have also helped to plant two churches in the U.S. They have spent the last two years serving in Santiago, Chile and will be serving their next term in Honduras. Their desire is to make Jesus known throughout the nations by partnering with foreign missionaries to train, equip, assist, and fund national pastors; enabling them to establish more churches.
Mark and Amy Coffey
Project South Africa is a team of like minded men working together to reach South Africa and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That pattern is training faithful men who will be able to teach others also. As Jesus poured His life into men to reach the world, we attempt to follow that same example. Our goal isn’t to see the biggest churches built or to start countless ministries. We simply have a desire to invest our lives into young men and women so they will be equipped to do the work of the ministry.
Josh and Katti Levesque
In the summer of 2019, during a prayer meeting of the Michigan Revival Conference, the Lord laid the burden on Josh’s heart to consider planting a church in Dearborn, Michigan. After a number of visits to the city and much prayer and research, the Lord confirmed the need and increased his burden to see a new church planted in this important city of his home state. This church plant is sponsored and sent out of their home church, Immanuel Baptist Church in Corunna, Michigan and in cooperation with Baptist Church Planting Ministry.
Neil and Darcy Alsbach
Neal and Darcey have been serving on Kinistin First Nation, a Saulteaux (pronounced “soto”) reserve in rural Saskatchewan, three hours north of Regina, for over 30 years. They lived on the Kinistin reserve the first 8 years of their ministry, and presently live 6 miles east of the reserve. The Alsbachs’ primary focus is evangelism and discipleship, which includes Bible studies, Mexico missions trips, and community involvement. They seek to build a bridge between the First Nations community and the local church.
Matt and Katie Brunk
Reach Maui is a vision of God’s people partnering together to further the Gospel in Maui through church planting. Through this innovative program, ROOTS partners with the Penelakut community to help find hope and health. Much of this work revolves around outdoor activities such as archery, kayaking, fishing, and camping. By challenging people to learn and grow in activities once central to their culture, our team is helping people to rediscover the skills of their past and in the process, we are pointing people to Christ
Dan and Sherry Murphy
Dan and Sherry have been living on mission in Ireland for over 20 years after living in Belgium for a season. While their focus is on church planting, it is accomplished through discipleship and something they call friendship evangelism. They open their home frequently for hospitality, inviting in those they meet which eventually leads to opportunities for discipleship.
Kent and Sandra Pool
Kent and Sandra Pool serve in the Philippines. They carry out leadership training and development with various Asian partners via various educational means, at various higher educational levels. They are now retired but still serve at Doane Baptist Seminary.
Bob and Becky Hein
Bob and Becky say G’day from Australia where they have served as church planters since March 1993. In their first term they supplied for two furloughing missionaries, one in Ballarat, the other in Shepparton. This was a great opportunity to learn the culture. Bob and an Australian pastor taught a homiletics class for men interested in preaching. Bob has since solo taught the class twice and also once in two other fellowshipping churches (in Benalla, Vic, and in Wagga Wagga, New South Wales). They are encouraged to see some of the men who completed the class now involved in pulpit supply for other churches, as well as ministering in their home churches.
